Mirixa’s Academic Partnership Program Mirixa’s Academic Partnership Program is dedicated to forming relationships between Mirixa, pharmacy practitioners, and the nation's colleges of pharmacy with the intent to provide enhanced opportunities for improved patient care. This program allows colleges of pharmacy across the country to engage in educational opportunities to improve patient care by partnering with Mirixa and utilizing the MirixaProSM platform.
Through using the MirixaPro platform training environment, students are able to explore Medication Therapy Management (MTM) services. Patient case design functionality provides faculty members with the ability to create MTM cases that support various curricula outcomes. As a result, students understand how MTM is helping to change the profession of pharmacy, while gaining "real world" practice experience in a classroom setting.
Through practice and school partnerships, students are able to actively apply their knowledge and skills to assist community practitioners in conducting actual patient cases. In turn, patients benefit from enhanced services they receive when practicing pharmacists team up with their future colleagues.
Consider what other schools have to say about using the MirixaPro platform: “As a Pharmacy Practice professor, I believe that we need to provide students with the opportunity to apply MTM in a practical fashion in order to achieve better learning outcomes. The effective use of existing technology, like the MirixaPro platform, improves their educational experience. In our simulation laboratory, the use of the training version of this platform gives students a “real world” pharmacy activity as one means to develop their clinical knowledge and skills. Use of technology such as this will allow them to not only succeed, but to advance the profession of pharmacy.” — Kimberley J. Begley, Pharm.D.
