Mirixa's Healthcare Success in Software-as-a-Service and IT/Business Integration Recognized in Gartner PublicationReston, Va., (March 20, 2008) Mirixa Corporation announced today that its strategic use of Information Technology was recently highlighted by Gartner's EXP CIO Signature, a high-level industry publication targeted exclusively to CIO of major corporations. The October 2007 issue of Gartner EXP CIO Signature, "Getting the Right IT: Using Business Models," written by Richard Hunter, described how CEOs can ensure they are getting the right IT for their companies and examined working business models to give industry leaders new insights. Mirixa was featured along with other industry leaders including Weyerhaeuser, Siemens AG, and ABB. "The perennial challenge for any CIO is how to align IT with the business," said Mark Carberry, chief operating officer and chief information officer of Mirixa Corporation. "What Mirixa has been able to do is develop a user-friendly IT platform to reach a critical sector of the healthcare industry - pharmacists - and provide them with services that generate a new revenue stream and work toward improving patient health, thereby enabling the business model for our company." Mirixa operates by providing technology and supportive services to pharmacies, pharmacists and their patients through its Software-As-A-Service (SaaS) web-based solution, MirixaPro℠. Mirixa's innovative clinical solutions suite enables pharmacists to easily deliver patient care services in conjunction with healthcare providers to achieve improved patient outcomes, lower operating costs, and to produce patient care revenues in addition to pharmacies' traditional dispensing and merchandising business. "Everything we do is enabled by our IT platform," said Carberry. "We may be new to the industry, but this platform has successfully scaled with our business and produced positive impact on the ability of pharmacists to deliver clinical patient care services that improve safety, quality of care, and ultimately control healthcare costs."
